ANDREA McCORMICK - biography

Andrea is the Artistic Director at American Music Theatre, a 1,600-seat Celebrity Concert venue that features Celebrity Concerts and Original Shows. As creator of the AMT Original Show season, Andrea writes, directs, choreographs and designs dynamic, large-scale musical productions for audiences throughout the year. Past shows include: Rocketmen, Broadway’s Best, Nashville City Limits, California Soul, Abbey Road- Beatles Tribute, Music of the Night, Country Classics, American Icons, Dance Explosion, Inspire, Crooners, VEGAS Legends, Songs of the Silver Screen, and more. Andrea is the creator of the critically acclaimed AMT Christmas Show, often compared to Radio City and known for sold out performances to audience members who travel from across the country to attend this holiday spectacular.

Andrea has created and designed entertainment internationally including 4 Original Shows for Royal Caribbean’s Azamara Club Cruises Line and design work for Holland America Line’s acclaimed Rolling Stone Room- all of which will be enjoyed by audience members around the globe. She was also selected by Cirque du Soleil as a finalist in their global search for new creative works for their annual One Drop series in Las Vegas. 

Andrea has performed on Broadway and off as well as across the country with numerous productions after receiving her BFA from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts. Broadway and 1st National Tour credits include The Wizard of Oz starring Mickey Rooney and Eartha Kitt (Grammy nominated recording) and Footloose (directed by Walter Bobbie). A career favorite for Andrea was working with the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame songwriting team Gamble and Huff and Mr. Lou Rawls on the musical Me and Mrs. Jones, directed by Charles Randolph Wright (Broadway’s MOTOWN). She made her Carnegie Hall debut as a featured soloist in Bernstein’s MASS and has had the privilege of performing alongside legends and fan favorites- Mickey Rooney, Eartha Kitt, Melanie Griffith, Judith Light, Sandy Duncan, Anika Noni Rose (Tony Award Winner, Dreamgirls movie, Disney’s The Princess and theFrog), Matthew Morrison (Glee, Finding Neverland), Angela Robinson (The Haves and the Have Nots), Christian Borle (NBC’s Smash,2 time Tony Award Winner) just to name a few! Andrea has had some fun with TV and movies along the way including As the World Turns and Spiderman 3. She was thrilled to work on the short film ‘For Love of the Film’ which won the coveted George Lucas Award and was featured on NBC’s The Today Show. Folks may have seen Andrea on the Lifetime Network Television show DANCE MOMS w/ Abby Lee where Andrea appeared as a guest judge. Andrea has also produced several solo albums including her acclaimed ‘BROADWAY’ EP which received rave reviews by New York theatre and music critics and has sold internationally.

Andrea teaches workshops/master classes across the country in Audition Technique, Voice, Acting and Dance and is passionate about creating an educational platform for young performers. Her students have gone on to have successful careers on Broadway and in Film. Andrea’s many students have attended the top schools in the country including New York University TISCH School of the Arts, Carnegie Mellon University, Cincinnati Conservatory of Music, Emerson College and many more!
